Challenge: Mnemonic for the ten EU accession states

The enlargement of the European Union is stretching the memory and recall abilities of Europeans.

Here's a challenge for you: can you think of an acronym, abbreviation, or mnemonic to help people remember the names of the ten new EU members that joined 1st May 2004? Here's one I came up with, using the second letter of some of the ISO abbreviations of the countries:  "Phlimzy Kev"

Pl: Poland
Hu: Hungary
Lt: Lithuania
sI: Slovenia
Mt: Malta
cZ: Czech rep.
cY: Cyprus
sK: Slovakia
Ee: Estonia
lV: Latvia

Can you do better? Email me to let me have your suggestion. I will list the printable ones on this page!

You already know the "Baffling Pigs and Duks" acronym for the present EU-15? (The 12 Euro countries: Belgium, Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain, and the three non-euro: Denmark, UK, Sweden)

Challenge: Mnemonic for the names of all 25 EU member states

A UK EMU programme manager forwarded these slightly controversial / political / humorous suggestions to me; you need to know that in the UK "PM" is Prime Minister, and EC might stand for "European Constitution":

Gulch spliff gas blinds PM's EC
P*ssed PM falls & flings chic bug

Alphabetical list

There are 26 letters and 25 members, so here's an attempt at a mapping. It needs more work...

A Austria
B Belgium
C -
D Denmark
E Estonia
FF France and Finland (think of "ff" as very loud)
G Greece
H Hungary
I Italy
J Germany (or put it with G above, or maybe D for Deutschland)
K SlovaK republic (Slovakia)
L Lithuania
M Malta
N Netherlands
O SlOvenia
PP Poland and Portugal (think of "pp" as very quiet)
Q - (Who's in the Queue for enlargement?)
R Ireland (R-land?) or include with I or E (Eire)
S Spain
T - (or maybe PorTugal, but Turkey is patiently waiting )
U UK (United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland)
V LatVia
W sWeden
X LuXembourg
Y cYprus
Z cZech republic (I wonder why it's not called Czechia?)

We would need to double up some more letters for Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey.

And we would need to find a way to count European Economic Area (EEA) / EFTA Countries not in the EU - Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
